About Tigard
Named after a noteworthy family headed by Wilson M. Tigard, Tigard is Oregon’s 11th largest city.  Although the area was settled in 1852 and was a rapidly growing town, Tigard was not an incorporated city until 1961.  Tigard prides itself on the small town feel of the city, while offering the amenities of a large, modern city.

Tigard is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Portland and is part of the Portland Metropolitan Area.

Tigard’s Neighborhoods
Tigard is a small community that revolves around the schools.  The community is very involved and the city counsel holds ‘open door’ meetings with the public.  While many of Tigard’s neighborhoods are older, new homes and neighborhoods are being built.  The Bull Mountain area is a popular area with views of the Willamette Valley and Cascade Range.
