Operated by the German American Society of Portland, our school has been successfully teaching students of all ages for the past 42 years through creative and interactive methods of instruction. Children and adults are grouped together with students of similar ages and abilities. In addition to language classes, children and families come together to celebrate cultural events such as Laternenfest, Nikolaustag, Weihnachten, Fasching, and Maifest. Monthly Jugendabende sessions bring Saturday School teens together with students and teachers from local high school German classes as part of our community outreach program for evenings of learning through games, German films, dancing, and conversation.
