Hipbone was founded 21 years ago in a very small studio downtown in the Pythian Building. Since then, with a couple of other locations and now in our current much larger space, it has evolved from its original purpose-to provide a space for visual artists to engage and study the human figure and respond creatively to it-to one that also includes the performing arts. The studio easily converts from what many say is the best place to draw in town, into a real, live theater to accomodate drama, storytelling, dance, music, literary readings, etc.. Other welcome uses have included; private parties, craft fairs, photography shoots, classes and rehearsals.
