I'm not a watercolorist or an oil painter, although I use both media. I'm not a Photo-realist,
although I paint in that style. I'm simply a painter.
My goal is to create a visually complex work that challenges the viewer to puzzle over
the big picture.
An appreciation of the abstract nature of things allows me to paint with extreme precision.
In one session, I may focus intently on a small section of a flower or part of a distorted
image in water.
Alone, the image would appear abstract but as part of the whole the individual images
come together to create the appearance of a literally rendered scene.
I like my paintings to be like a well written novel – you can keep coming back to it and
discovering different things every time you look at it.
