After graduating from University of Texas in 1973, Mitch Gilbert moved to Oregon in 1974. He interned with Fletcher Finch Farr Architects for over three years, in addition to working with other architectural firms.
In 1980 he started his own firm, Gilbert Hasenberg Architects, with John Hasenberg. Gilbert Hasenberg specialized in residential architecture, new construction as well as remodeling.
In 1994, he launched the firm Mitch G. Gilbert/Architect in order to add commercial projects to his repertoire. His work has been featured in Sunset Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, Builder Architect and Remodelling Magazine, among others.
